Peel the apples, slice them into wedges about 1/2 inch thick, and core them. Drizzle some lemon juice onto the slices and gently mix to stop browning while doing other prep.

On medium heat, melt the butter in a sturdy skillet. Wait until it bubbles and smells wonderful.

Toss the apple slices into the pan, sprinkle with cinnamon, a pinch of salt, and brown sugar. Stir well to make sure each piece gets coated.

Cover the pan and cook for around 15 minutes. Stir every now and then until the apples turn soft, caramel-colored, and smell irresistible.

Once tender and ready, turn off the heat. Serve warm on its own, or pair with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or some whipped cream.
