Fried Strawberry Cheesecake Bites (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 4 oz softened cream cheese
02 - ½ cup sliced fresh strawberries
03 - 3 tbsp milk
04 - 2 tbsp powdered sugar (extra for sprinkling)
05 - 8 slices of challah or brioche bread
06 - ¼ cup strawberry jam
07 - 2 tbsp butter (for cooking)
08 - 2 large eggs

# Instructions:

01 - Use a small bowl to combine powdered sugar and soft cream cheese until the texture is smooth.
02 - Slather the cream cheese mix over one side of four slices of the bread. Top with strawberry slices and a spoonful of jam. Close the sandwich with the other bread slices.
03 - Crack the eggs into a shallow dish, pour in the milk, and whisk together until smooth.
04 - Coat both sides of each sandwich in the egg wash. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Cook the sandwiches about 2–3 minutes per side until they look golden.
05 - Place the sandwiches on a paper towel-covered plate to drain. Sprinkle with some powdered sugar before serving them up.

# Notes:

01 - Want some crunch? Mix finely chopped nuts, like pecans or almonds, into the cream cheese blend.
02 - Uncooked sandwiches can be frozen for a month. Cook them straight from the freezer; just add 1–2 extra minutes per side.
03 - Switch strawberry jam with apricot or raspberry for a fun flavor switch-up.
