→ Optional Substitutions

11 - Try using vegan butter and dairy-free chocolate chips if you want these cookies dairy-free.
12 - Switch out a bit of the flour for whole wheat flour for a nuttier taste and extra fiber.

# Instructions:

01 - Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Place parchment paper on baking trays so the cookies won't stick.
02 - Combine the softened butter with the granulated and brown sugars. Using a mixer, beat until the mixture is fluffy—this'll take about 2–3 minutes.
03 - Mix in the eggs one at a time, making sure each one blends in before adding the next. Stir in the vanilla to finish.
04 - In another bowl, mix together the salt, baking soda, and flour. Slowly add this dry mix to the butter mixture, stirring until it's just combined.
05 - Fold in the maraschino cherries and chocolate chips. Mix gently so they're evenly spread in the dough.
06 - Scoop out about 1–2 tablespoons of dough for each cookie and drop onto baking sheets. Leave about 2 inches between them.
07 - Pop them in the oven and bake for 10 to 12 minutes. They’re ready when the edges start to turn golden and the center just sets.
08 - Let the cookies sit on the tray for five minutes before moving them onto a wire rack to cool completely.

# Notes:

01 - Use a cookie scoop if you want all your cookies to be the same size.
02 - Slip in a splash of almond extract during the vanilla step to add a hint of nuttiness.
03 - Pair these cookies with a cold glass of milk or your favorite coffee for the perfect snack.
