In a small bowl, toss together thyme, black pepper, paprika, and rosemary. Press the rosemary gently with a spoon.

Use paper towels to dry the surface of the prime rib completely.

Evenly scatter the salt over all sides of the meat, holding your hand about six inches above it.

Sprinkle the spice mix on the meat, then rub it in with light, circular motions.

Wrap the meat tightly in two layers of plastic wrap. Place in the fridge for anywhere between 6 and 24 hours.
